Jane Sixsmith MBE

Born in Sutton Coldfield, Jane Sixsmith MBE is a former four time Olympian field hockey player who was a member of the British squad that won Bronze at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona

Jane who made her field hockey debut aged 15 for Sutton Coldfield has played countless Internationals, Commonwealth games, four Olympic games and continues to show no signs of slowing down as she strides into her 47th year playing for Sutton Coldfield and giving juniors half her age a run for their money.

Her incredible career achievements have seen Jane becoming Great Britain’s all time leading goal scorer with over 105 goals, winning an incredible 165 Caps for England and 158 Internationals for Great Britain.

She is the only British Female hockey player to have appeared at four Olympic Games, including the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia. Her honours include an MBE, an Olympic Bronze (Barcelona 1992), European Cup Gold Medal (1991) and a Commonwealth Silver medal (1998)

Jane now channels her sporting success and achievements as a sports development officer for Birmingham City council and continues to play Hockey for Sutton Coldfield at the top of her game 32 years later!
