CHILD FALLS FROM WALL Thursday 31st March 2016 – 6.15pm
A young girl has been taken to the region’s paediatric major trauma centre after falling off a wall and landing on her head.
The incident happened in East Park in the Eastfield area of Wolverhampton at about 2.20pm on Thursday afternoon.
An ambulance arrived in 8 minutes and was backed up by a paramedic area support officer, a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with the MERIT Trauma doctor on board.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crew arrived, they were told that the nine year old girl had fallen about 5 feet and landed on her head.
“She was initially unconscious and had a head injury.
“The doctor from the aircraft travelled with the land ambulance crew as she was taken to the paediatric major trauma centre at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
