Pedestrian dies in Burntwood after collision with van Wednesday 19th December 2018 - 2.20pm
An elderly pedestrian has died after a collision with a van.
It happened on High Street in the Chasetown area of Burntwood at about 2.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Two Midlands Air Ambulances, one with a doctor on board, a paramedic officer and two ambulances were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found the pedestrian who had suffered versy serious injuries.
“They carried out advanced clinical care at the scene but sadly, it was not possible to save him, and he was confirmed dead on scene.
“The man driving the van was also assessed at the scene but was discharged after treatment.”
