Two Shropshire choirs will be joining forces to celebrate the life-saving work of Midlands Air Ambulance this weekend.
On Saturday 4th September, over 50 singers from Bridgnorth Choral Society and Bridgnorth Male Voice Choir will be serenading locals at St Mary’s Church in Bridgnorth to raise cash for the charity.
Regular singers Terry and Linda Haynes have helped mastermind the concert to thank Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for airlifting their grandson to Birmingham Children’s Hospital earlier this year.
At just fourteen days old a critically ill Arthur Howells had to undergo intricate surgery on his heart after being diagnosed with transposition of the great arteries (TGA).
Arthur’s grandfather Terry says “It is down to the rapid response of the air ambulance and the wonderful staff at Birmingham Children’s Hospital that Arthur is now on his way to a full recovery. My family will be eternally grateful to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for being there when we needed them. The crew did an amazing job and my wife and I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
With an expected audience of over 200 people it is hoped that the concert will raise £1,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance and the Children’s Hospital Heart Appeal.
A second concert will also be performed on Saturday 25th September at St Mary’s Church in Alveley.
Both concerts start at 7pm and tickets (priced at £5) are available from Recess Antiques, St Mary’s Street Bridgnorth, Alveley Post Office, choir members and on the door.
