Briggs donates £20,000 to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Briggs employees have shown overwhelming support to MAAC having recently donated £20,000 to the worthy cause.

Briggs has an annual programme of charity support and The Midlands Air Ambulance was the company’s’ chosen charity for 2012. This was nominated by employees after several of their families required the help of the air ambulance. The charity responds to around 3,000 missions every year, nearly ten each day, and makes it one of the busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK. The charity receives no government or lottery funding.

Since April 2012, when Briggs fundraising began for the charity, an array of events and activities took place including; raffles, fun days, cake sales, sponsored skydives, marathons and a gruelling three hour sponsored spin class.

Richard Close Briggs’ Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to have supported the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. As a company we are passionate about giving help, support and time to our local communities and charitable causes."

Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
