Flying Start To Crowe Clark Whitehill’s First Five-A-Side

The Midlands office of national audit, tax and advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill has showcased its first five-a-side football tournament in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

The event, held at the Goals Centre in the Black Country, featured 16 teams – HSBC teams from Wolverhampton, Worcester and Birmingham, Higgs & Sons, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays, George Green Solicitors, Yorkshire Bank, Handelsbanken, fbc Manby Bowdler, Quality Solicitors Talbots, Harrison Clark Rickerbys, Gateley UK, Painters Solicitors, Crowe Clark Whitehill and AC Dudley.

A total of £527 was raised – Painters Solicitors were the victors.

Johnathan Dudley, Crowe Clark Whitehill Midlands managing partner, thanked
all the teams who entered plus Jack Edmonds and the charity team for organising the event.

“It was a really fun occasion and a real boost for our fundraising for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity,” he said.

“There was lots of effort on display even if there was a distinct absence of scouts from the Wolves and the Baggies!”

Jon Cottrell from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, added: “We feel very priviledged to have been chosen as the beneficiary charity of Crowe Clark Whitehill’s football tournament. As our vitally important pre-hospital service is 100 per cent funded by generous donations from the general public and local businesses, the amount raised on the night will go directly towards funding life saving air ambulance missions in the Midlands region.”

Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
