Local Business Professionals Raise Funds for MAAC

A Telford business network has officially named Midlands Air Ambulance its chosen charity for the year.

Members of Telford Business Partnership chose the charity because of the valuable service it provides in the local area and they are now planning a series of events in the coming months to raise vital cash.

Chairman Robin Melley said: “We wanted to support a cause that was particularly significant in the area where our members are based, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity was the popular choice.

"It needs to raise over £6 million a year to keep its three air ambulances operational, and we will be encouraging members to dig deep and help us raise as much as we possibly can. We are now making plans for our main fund raising event which will take place in September, and details will be confirmed in the next few weeks."

OPERATIONS STATISTICS:
Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
