Pound The Bounds Announces New Routes

Ahead of the Pound The Bounds walks taking place on 30th April 2017 from Rock, near Kidderminster, the organisers have changed a third of the routes on offer, to provide those who attend every year with alternative walks through the glorious Worcestershire countryside.

“Out of the six distances available on the day, our six and nine mile routes are the popular, attracting over 150 walkers each,” states Sue Humphries, one of the event organisers. She continues: “A number of walkers return to Pound The Bounds each year, which is why we are altering two of the routes, so participants can take advantage of differing parts of our beautiful county.”

As well as the newly created six and nine mile routes, walkers of all abilities, and trail runners can sign up for the marathon (26.2 mile), 18 mile or the half marathon (13.5 mile) routes, while a three mile treasure trail is an ideal option for young families.

In total Pound The Bounds, which is now in its 17th year, attracts over 500 people, and the event is run in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Last year the event raised over £7,200 for the organisation through entrance fees and sponsorship, which will help fund three lifesaving air ambulance missions.

To find out more, visit www.poundthebounds.com, registration for the event will open in the new year. Entry fees start from just £3 per person for the treasure trail and £6 for the more advanced walks. Those interested in taking part are encouraged to raise sponsorship money for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
