Three Peakers Get Ready

Phoenix Group’s intrepid ‘Three Peakers’ will be challenging themselves to walk the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in June and all within 24 hours. As if that wasn’t enough for the team of 10 they recently kicked off their fundraising at Phoenix’s offices in Wythall by recruiting willing volunteers, including members of the Phoenix Life Management Board, to their Walkathon event. The aim was to walk 42 km, the equivalent distance of the Three Peaks, on two treadmills set up in their coffee area.

The day long relay event was a great success and the fundraising total (and walkers kept climbing. In addition to raising money the event continued to raise staff awareness of the vital work undertaken by the Air Ambulance charities. Midlands Air Ambulance’s Corporate Fundraising Manager, Sofia Voutianitis and Corporate Fundraising Assistant, Jon Cottrell were on hand to offer their support, cheer the walkers on and sell cakes.

The walkers’ fundraising continues as they attempt to smash their challenging target of £7500. Donations can be made via their Virgin Money site. To donate, please click here. The money raised will be matched £ for £ by the Phoenix Group.
