Marathon Runners Flock To Charity Event

Wednesday 8th March 2017

Worcestershire residents have taken a keen interest in Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s ‘Rock Pound the Bounds’, with the marathon route proving to be the most popular.

Taking place on Sunday 30th April, the event which was first held in 2000, has grown in popularity year by year, with 500 people taking part in 2016.

Michelle McCracken, Worcestershire fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity says: “Rock Pounds the Bounds attracts runners and walkers of all abilities, as there is a choice of five different routes, which all take in stunning scenery.

“It’s a fantastic event for people to take part in, whilst raising vital funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.”

Registration starts from £6 for adults on the six and nine mile, and half marathon routes, and £8 for the 18 mile and marathon routes. All participants are also encouraged to raise sponsorship money for the charity leading up to the event.
