Any Old Iron? Have A Spring Clean For Charity

Is your shed full of old garden tools or the cupboard under the sink full of empty cans? Then why not recycle them this month and help save lives as well as the environment.

That’s the message from Dudley based Mason Metals Ltd which has pledged the value of scrap metal brought in and donated by members of the public throughout July to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

As the leading recycler of non-ferrous and steel scrap metal in the West Midlands, Masons Metals Ltd buys and recycles more than 20,000 tonnes of scrap metal from local householders, businesses and public sector organisations every year that otherwise might go to waste or landfill.

The company hopes that its recycle-for-charity month will raise as much as £10,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and demonstrate to the public that recycling household waste and scrap metals can support their favourite life-saving saving charity and the environment.

“Metal recycling has always provided an extra revenue stream for businesses but with wider appreciation of the green benefits of recycling and rising values of scrap metal, the house holder is now as important a recycler as the large manufacturing company,” says director Andrew Jones. If you have any metal to recycle, any quantity whether it be food cans, batteries, gas and electrical refits, or items found from clearing out the garage or shed, it all can provide valuable scrap metals which we recycle responsibly and pay you for.

The more scrap metal people bring in to us throughout July, the more we can donate to Midlands Air Ambulance.”

Mason Metals named Midlands Air Ambulance as its Charity of Choice for 2011 and has already raised £2500 through a number of recycling initiatives.

Established in 1960, Mason Metals operates two recycling centers at Brierley Hill and Halesowen processing precious non-ferrous meals and steel scrap as feedstock for furnaces around the globe.

Anyone wishing to take along their scrap metal can simply turn up at Mason’s Brierley Hill depot at Two Woods Lane, Off Mill Street, DY5 1TA, throughout July. Conveniently located next to The Merry Hill Shopping Centre, the depot is open for commercial collection and deliveries between 7.15pm and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
