Be a hero for a day and support MAA!

It's National Air Ambulance Week, 24 – 30th September 2012

Everyone loves a superhero.  Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Spiderman - all coming to the rescue of those in need and using their special powers to save the day.

At Midlands Air Ambulance, our real life heroes are the public that keep our donation-funded service operational. You might not have special powers but with your help, we can continue to save lives in your community every single day.

Help celebrate the work of Midlands Air Ambulance during National Air Ambulance Week 2012 by joining in our Superhero fundraiser "Be a hero for a day".

Why not get together with your school, university, work colleagues, family, friends, or local community and spend the day dressed as your favourite superhero to help raise the vital funds needed to keep our heroes flying.

Taking place from 24 - 30th September 2012, we are asking everyone to join in and donate just £1.  You could dress up for a day as a real life hero; a paramedic or solider or maybe a superhero! Why not gain sponsorship for your fundraising efforts and see how much your office could raise for the chance to see your boss spend the day in tights and a cape!

National Air Ambulance Week is an initiative put together by the Association of Air Ambulances, the organisation that unites Air Ambulance charities across the country.

Hanna Sebright, CEO of MAA said; "We’re joining together with other local Air Ambulances across the country and are asking everyone to get involved during National Air Ambulance Week. Midlands Air Ambulance needs to raise £6.5million every year and receives no government or national lottery funding.

Every penny needed to ensure MAA can continue to save lives is raised by the generosity of the communities we serve. That’s why we think our real heroes are our supporters, so we’re asking you to put some "fun" into your fundraising and get involved!"

We will also be handing out special airbase visits to the most successful and creative fundraisers, so send your pictures in or upload them to our Facebook page.

If you, your work place or school would like to be involved, please contact Katy Meaney on 0800 8 40 20 40 or email
