Bike Ride powers Air Ambulance

Brothers George and Harry Meek along with family friend Steve Cave set off on a 1000 mile cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End which they aim to complete in just nine days.

The fundraising trio, all from Forest of Dean, began their challenge on the morning of Friday 22nd April in a bid to raise £1,000 which will be split evenly between Midlands Air Ambulance and SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association).

Joined by University friends Alex Ludgate and Luke Smith, this impressive cycle ride is the group’s first ever fundraising event.

“We wanted to do something memorable which would really help out our local air ambulance,”
says George Meek, design engineer at Delphi Diesel Systems.“Cycling 1,000 miles seemed like a great idea, it’s only now that we’re all getting slightly nervous about what lies ahead! Fingers crossed people will show their support along the way and help us raise money for a vital service that relies completely on public funding.”

Midlands Air Ambulance is sure the guys will enjoy every mile of the fundraising and would like to wish them the very best of luck!
