Camping & caravan club parks funds

Members of the West Midlands District Association of the Camping & Caravan Club (WMDA) celebrated a year of fundraising at their annual dinner dance in January.

Kevin Slack and Rob South from WMDA handed over £2,311.47 to Geoff Woodford from Midlands Air Ambulance, in front of 71 club members at the Quality Inn Hotel in Dudley.

The money was raised between March 2009 and November 2010 after the Club named Midlands Air Ambulance as its Charity of the Year.

“We decided on Midlands Air Ambulance for the simple reason that people need it,” says Charity Officer at WMDA Kevin Slack. “As a club we are often at rallies in very rural areas and it’s reassuring to know that if anything did happen Midlands Air Ambulance would be there to help.”

Midlands Air Ambulance thinks the dinner dance sounds like a fantastic way to relax after all that fundraising. The Charity is celebrating its 20th anniversary and this really got the year going in style!
