Crossroads Reaches A Milestone

Crossroad, a charity fundraising group from Stoke Prior, has recently donated £5,000 to the Midlands Air Ambulance, bringing their overall fundraising total to an impressive £50,000 over their 15 years of support.

The latest £5,000 was collected through various events held throughout the year in conjunction with the Ewe and Lamb public house in Stoke Prior, including champagne breakfasts, plus an annual six mile charity walk which takes place every October and is well attended by the local community.

Terry Murphy, co-founder of Crossroad, stated: “Everyone involved is so proud to have reached the £50,000 milestone for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and our recent £5,000 donation has been the icing on the cake. The on going support for our events by the public is greatly appreciated and I’d like to thank Steve Webb, Trevor Higginbottom and the Ewe and Lamb landlord, Nick Mossop, for their continued contribution to our events.

Members of Crossroad, Terry Murphy, Sandra Jones and Neville Horton and Valerie Hatton, recently visited the Midlands Air Ambulance’s Strensham airbase in Worcestershire and presented the cheque to regional fundraising manager Annie Newell.

Annie commented: “Crossroad has been a fantastic support to our charity since 1998 and we really wouldn’t be the great service we are today without their generous annual contributions. It costs our service £2,500 each time we attend an incident, so Crossroad has directly funded 20 life saving missions, which is an incredible achievement.”

Crossroad’s Charity Walk takes place on Sunday 6th October, and includes a six mile walk from the Ewe and Lamb pub in Stoke Prior. The walk starts at 9am and a buffet will be provided on return. It’s set to be a great morning, so anyone interested in taking part, are being invited to get in touch with Crossroad member Neville Hatton on 07968 319 732.
