Getting Sporty!

50 athletes from Bromsgrove will be putting their trainers on in memory of a father and a friend.

Organised by Altered Images, Bromsgrove’s ‘friendly fitness club’, the participants will be taking part in a 20-mile Bike Ride, a Zumbathon (two hour Latino dance class) a 10k race and a 5K fun run all in memory of former club member Kevin Folkes.

The sporting challenges, taking place this Saturday (20th November) will also be raising money for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Last summer one of our long-standing members Kevin Folkes was involved in a road traffic accident which Midlands Air Ambulance attended. Sadly despite the crew’s best efforts Kevin died and so this is our way of remembering a friend and doing some good for a terrific charity” says Paul Costello of Altered Images.

The club hopes to raise £2,000 from the events this weekend.

The events start from 10.30am at the fitness club. To get involved call Paul or Lara on 01527 874 395, download a sponsor form from the news & events section at www.altered-images.co.uk or visit Altered Images at 80 Worcester Road, Bromsgrove. There is a £10 entry fee for all participants who are not fundraising.

Midlands Air Ambulance hopes everyone has a fantastic time and would like to thank everyone who is taking part.
