MAAC Appeals To Young Heroes For Christmas Party

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is appealing to children who have been airlifted by the charity, to get in touch to be invited to a Christmas party, to celebrate their bravery and reunite them with their heroes.

Each year the charity hosts a Young Heroes Christmas Party, bringing together former patients and the flight paramedics and doctors that treated them, with entertainment, refreshments and a visit from Santa.

Becky Steele, air operations manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity explains: “On average we airlift a child every four days, but once we have transported the patient to hospital, it is rare that we receive updates on their recovery, so the Young Heroes Christmas Party is a lovely opportunity for us to find out how they are doing, and to give them a really special time after their incidents.

“We would encourage families whose children have been airlifted by the charity over the last twelve months, to give us a call on 0800 8 40 20 40, and we would love to invite them along to the party in December.”

Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
