MAAC's Strategic Appointment

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has appointed Susie Godwin as the regional fundraising manager for Gloucestershire and west Herefordshire.

Susie joins the charity with a wealth of experience in the third sector, having previously worked as a local coordinator with Help for Heroes for four years. She is keen to help promote Midlands Air Ambulance Charity to existing and potential new supporters and has a great understanding of the Gloucestershire and west Herefordshire areas, as she has lived in Cheltenham for 30 years.

As part of her first year in the post, Susie’s key objectives include implementing fundraising initiatives within the local community as well as building strong working relationships with SMEs to help develop their corporate social responsibility policies. She is also dedicated to supporting local people with their fundraising events for the charity.

Susie comments: “I am extremely proud to work for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as it is a service none of us can afford to take for granted. With 11 per cent of all airlift missions taking place in Gloucestershire alone, my main aim is to raise awareness of the charity in the region, and help raise funds for the vital life saving service.

Jason Levy, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, adds: “Gloucestershire and Herefordshire are two of the most rural areas we cover, and our helicopter emergency service is often relied upon when land ambulances can’t reach an accident, so it’s imperative we build awareness and raise money in these counties.

“We are delighted Susie has joined our growing team. Her previous experience and knowledge of the area and numerous fundraising opportunities will prove invaluable to meeting our overall strategic objectives.”

In her spare time, Susie is a fashion model and a property landlord, enjoying all aspects of the role including renovation work and DIY.
