Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Appeals For A Hero

National Air Ambulance Week 23rd – 29th September 2013

As Midlands Air Ambulance’s flight paramedics are often referred to the ‘heroes of the sky’ due to the life saving work they do on a daily basis, the charity is urging people across Shropshire to dress up as their favourite superhero for National Air Ambulance Week 2013.

The week is a national campaign led by the Association of Air Ambulances and aims to celebrate the fantastic life saving work of the air ambulance charities across the country. Communities are being encouraged to fundraise for their local air ambulance, and Midlands Air Ambulance, which covers six counties including Shropshire, is recommending people don a superhero costume to demonstrate their support.

"We launched our ‘be a hero for a day’ appeal for last year’s inaugural National Air Ambulance Week and it was so well received by businesses, schools, colleges and community groups that we’re rolling it out again this year," states Jason Levy, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Jason adds: "You can ask family and friends to sponsor you to become one of our superheroes or make a donation to us, either way it’s a simple and fun way to help raise funds for our vital emergency service, and every penny really does count so I’d encourage you to get involved!"

There are several ways the public can support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity during National Air Ambulance Week. We currently have 26 members of flight paramedics and doctors across our three airbases, to join them and become a hero for the day, you can choose dress up as a caped crusader or not, but please text HERO26 to 70070 with the amount you want to contribute to our service. If you are dressing up, you can also ask family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you by donating via the text number, or you can choose to download a sponsorship form at wwww.midlandsairambulance.com
