Midlands Air Ambulance Charity welcomes Chancellors announcement of VAT Relief on Fuel Duty

As the largest and busiest Air Ambulance organisation in the UK, each year it costs in excess of £6.5 million just to keep the three charity helicopters operational.

Jason Levy, Fundraising Director for the charity said “We are yet to fully understand how the VAT relief on fuel will effect our air operations; however any announcement that helps to reduce running costs is welcome. With operational costs in excess of £6.5 million each year, any savings will be redirected into funding more air rescues and ultimately help save more lives”.

Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
