Office Move Contributes To Charity’s Savings
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) has made a strategic decision to move its headquarters to new premises in Stourbridge. To officially unveil the charity’s new offices, the team was joined by the Mayor of Dudley, councillor Alan Finch and celebrity supporter of the service, John Challis.
The move to the new offices at Hawthorn House, situated on Dudley Road, took place mid June and is testament to the continued success of the charity. Hawthorn House spans 2,000 square foot over two floors, more than double the office space at the former premises at Enterprise Trading Estate unit in Brierley Hill. The new facilities were required to provide a much improved working environment for the fundraising and administration support team.
The decision has helped to improve the charity’s efficiencies as office costs will reduce by 50 per cent as a result of the move. It also enables the organisation to continue to direct 90 per cent of donations towards the life saving missions undertaken by the Midlands Air Ambulance.
In addition, the Dudley Road location enables the charity to maintain its close working relationship with West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
The Mayor, together with MAAC’s chief executive Hanna Sebright, cut the ribbon and announced the brand new headquarters ‘open’. As part of the ceremony, councillor Finch was given a guided tour of the new facilities, which is more than double the space of the old offices at Enterprise Trading Estate.
Mayor of Dudley, councillor Finch, commented: “I felt extremely privileged to be part of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s official office opening. The headquarters are in a great building and situated in a very prominent location, so I hope the new offices will help attract further interest and donations from the local community.”
Hanna Sebright, added: “We were delighted councillor Finch was present at our official office opening. The fact that we’ve invested in new facilities highlights just how far we’ve come in our 22 year history. The charity started in a portacabin and has grown from strength to strength ever since, which wouldn’t have been achieveable without the on going commitment and donations from the local communities we serve.”
Following the move, the charity is in the process of organising a series of open house events, giving corporate supporters, fundraisers and volunteers the chance to see the new offices in person.

The telephone and fax numbers will remain the same, and in the short term post sent to the old headquarters at Enterprise Trading Estate will be redirected to the new offices.
In addition to the new offices, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is currently looking for new warehouse space to accommodate the generous donations made by the public for the organisation’s charity shop, which include furniture, clothing, books and bric-a-brac.
