Our Chief Executive Is In The Running For Award

The charity's chief executive, Hanna Sebright, is in the running for a major award after being shortlisted for the Midlands Business Awards 2014.

Hanna is among the final five for the title of Midlands Business Person of the Year and is the first third sector representative to be named a finalist.

Hanna began her varied and successful career with British Airways before founding her own digital healthcare business, which became the second largest company of its kind in the UK. She later sold her business to Lord Alan Sugar, before taking on her role at Midlands Air Ambulance.

Hanna initially joined the service as charity director in 2009, and became chief executive when the Stourbridge-based charity gained independence in 2010. Hanna leads a team, which has to raise £6.5 million each year to keep the vital life saving work of the Midlands Air Ambulance in operation 365 days a year.

Harj Sandher, of Leamington Spa-based UK Special Events which organises the event, said: "These are highly challenging economic times but still the entrepreneurial spirit of the Midlands shines through. These awards appeal to a wide range of companies and individuals and are our way of celebrating the best of the region.

"Each year we unearth some new stars and the ingenuity of the participants is often staggering."

To make it to the final, Hanna and her fellow nominees met a panel of independent judges to highlight why they should be named the Midlands Business Person of the Year. The winner will be announced at a Gala Ceremony on Friday 28 February 2014 at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.
