Shropshire Mud Runners’ Call For Support
With just 30 places available in the forthcoming Shropshire Mud Runs, outdoor pursuits enthusiasts, runners and those looking to do something to fun to raise money for a worthy cause are being encouraged to sign up to an exciting yet gruelling event to help raise vital funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
The Shropshire Mud Run Series, organised by outdoor activities company – Ultimate Fitness Experience, is a 10K challenge which takes participants through ditches, caves and trails, and of course, plenty of mud!
The team at charity supporters, Ultimate Fitness Experience, are planning two events to help raise money for the charity. The Follies Mud Run at Hawkstone Park takes place on Saturday 28th September 2013 which now has limited places, while the Marshbrook Mud Run at Church Stretton is being held on Saturday 30th November 2013 and entrants are being invited to sign up now.
Tom Meehan, business partner and fitness coach for Ultimate Fitness Experience, comments: “We’re aiming to attract over 250 entrants to each of the mud runs, so far we’ve got over 220 signed up and are still receiving interest from local people, which is great news, but we could still do with more people taking part and raising sponsorship money for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.”
Maria Jones, Shropshire fundraising manager, adds: “A great number of our corporate partners are supporting the event and everyone is really excited about getting involved, so I’d encourage businesses, groups and even individuals to sign up to one or both of the events and help to make a real difference to our vital life saving service.”
Maria adds: “At Midlands Air Ambulance we don’t just attend missions where patients require urgent medical treatment, we also airlift people who have had accidents in remote areas where land ambulances just can’t get to the scene, so support of the mud runs from keen runners and outdoor enthusiasts will really assist our fundraising total.”
