Young Patients Reunited With Their Flying Heroes
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity hosted a Christmas party on Sunday 11th December, at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire, to acknowledge the bravery of children airlifted by the charity.
Attended by eight children who have been airlifted from serious incidents including road traffic collisions, and their families, the party included a buffet lunch, a visit from Santa and the chance to meet their heroes, the Midlands Air Ambulance aircrew, before having free reign to explore the theme park.
Jo Bailey, events manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity explains: “Drayton Manor kindly offered to host our Christmas party this year, and provided refreshments and complimentary entry into the theme park for the children and their families, as well as arranging for Santa to make a flying visit!
“The children had a fantastic time, and we were able to reunite five-year-old Tao from Herefordshire, and 12-year-old Adam from the West Midlands, with the aircrew paramedics who administered care at the scene of their incidents.”
Colin Bryan, CEO for Drayton Manor Park added ‘’As part of our Drayton Manor Foundation we were really pleased to welcome Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and the incredibly brave children to spend a wonderful Christmas themed day with us on Sunday. It’s always very special for us when we get to partner with our foundation charities to help create fantastic days out to remember.’’
