Keith Lane MBE

Keith Lane MBE otherwise known as 'the helicopter man' by his family and friends, was a passionate supporter of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Following Keith's wishes, his family and friends asked for donations to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity at his funeral, and a Midlands Air Ambulance flew by during the service.

Keith was an enthusiastic fundraiser for the charity and was well known around the office.

His daughter Tess said, "I am sure you will have memories of my fun loving dad and his passion for the Air Ambulance and determination to keep it up in the air and right up until his passing, despite him being so poorly, he was still so proud of each and everyone of you that he so fondly cared for - each pilot, each paramedic and each member of the team."

It is thanks to fundraisers like Keith that Midlands Air Ambulance can remain operational, and he is remembered fondly by all at MAAC.

Missions completed since 1991: 50,563 | On average we airlift a child every four days | Road traffic collisions make up around 35% of the incidents we attend | The service airlifts on average four horse riders each week.
