Timely and appropriate airway management is vital in the care of the pre-hospital trauma patient. Whilst it is accepted that this care ranges from basic airway manoeuvres all the way to tracheal intubation, how and who delivers this in the pre-hospital field remains controversial. This review article aims to evaluate the current evidence surrounding advanced airway management.
