The NEC Group knows the way to their employees’ hearts is through their stomachs. Staff hosted three bake sales where their catering arm of the business, Amadeus, has supplied tasty treats for staff to purchase and donate all proceeds to MAAC.
Throughout the year show promoters often invite NEC Group staff to attend events. Rather than staff attending free of charge, all staff have made a charitable donation of £3.50 for their ticket which has gone directly to MAAC.
Charity Raffles and Auctions
The NEC Group is lucky enough to work alongside some influential corporate partners that forge strong and impactful commercial partnerships across the business. Sponsors and partners regularly donate their products to our charity team to raffle and auction off across the business to raise additional funds.
The NEC Group is proud to invest time into the wellbeing and development activities for employees. This included the annual NEC Group football tournament where the separate business units within the Group had some healthy competition and paid to enter the series of games. All proceeds and refreshments sold during this event are donated to MAAC.
In addition to looking after the wellbeing of their employees, the NEC Group has also joined forced with MAAC to strengthen the knowledge of staff with invaluable life skills through delivering its own training programme. This equipped the attendees with the awareness of how to initially respond to an emergency situation administering cardiac arrest, bleed control and the use of defibrillators.
To further recognise the value of its employees, the NEC Group holds an annual recognition awards event to celebrate their successes of the year. All employees were charged just £1 for a wonderful evening of food and entertainment, which is all donated to the winning Charity of the Year. In addition to this there is an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for prices worth over £1,000. Again, all proceeds are then donated to the Charity of the Year.
Choose to Re-Use Scheme
NEC Group employees also participated in the MAAC Choose to Re-use Scheme by bringing in as many unwanted household items and clothing as possible. These items are then packaged off to the MAAC charity shops and sold to generate essential funding.
Overall it has been a pleasure for the NEC Group to support such an amazing charity and cause that saves 100s of lives each year, making the impossible possible. The NEC Group is proud to have raised nearly £38,000 for MAAC and wish the organisation all the success for their next year of fundraising to continue its phenomenal work.
Teddy of Tour for Christmas
Finally, to raise awareness and raise some final funds, the NEC Group sent the MAAC teddy on tour around its venues. The lucky ted got to go backstage, in the kitchen and even got to go up the NEC Group’s new venue in Bradford!
