Shropshire Air Ambulance

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity provides vital emergency pre-hospital care across Shropshire, attending hundreds of serious incidents each year. Our helicopters regularly attend incidents in remote rural areas like the Shropshire Hills and Clun Forest. In urban locations such as Shrewsbury, Oswestry, and Telford, our critical care cars provide fast, specialist support where air deployment may not be needed. Shropshire is also home to the charity’s Airbase Headquarters.

Our operations across Shropshire

We operate in partnership with West Midlands Ambulance Service, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, and other local emergency services. In rural areas, we may also work alongside Mountain Rescue teams to help access patients in challenging terrain.

Patients in Shropshire benefit from rapid transfer to specialist hospitals. Depending on the severity and type of injury or illness, we regularly support on patient transfer to Royal Stoke University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
