“The aircrew were incredible. They talked me through the whole process and gave me the necessary pain relief to avoid causing further distress.”

“The charity ensured my wife wasn’t taken from us on that fateful day, and it’s so important that people recognise the need for the charity.”

Our volunteer policy

At Midlands Air Ambulance Charity we have robust procedures that we follow as part of our volunteer policy.

This means every person that enquires about volunteering with MAAC is given the same opportunities and we are able to support a diverse range of abilities and backgrounds.

Volunteers join us for many different reasons and with all sorts of interests, so we aim to match you with a suitable volunteering role wherever possible. Every volunteer receives an induction, so you’ll know what to do and who to ask for help if you need it.

The first step in becoming a Midlands Air Ambulance Charity volunteer is a meet and greet – so we can get to know you, and for you get to know us! We ask all of our volunteers for the following;

  • To present ID – please ask us about what forms of ID we can accept
  • To provide 2 referees – we require 2 character references
  • To be aware some volunteer roles or situations may require a DBS check – this will always be discussed in advance if applicable
