First Rider on Scene (MBT)

For mountain bikers and the off road community
A practical course designed to give learners the skills and confidence to manage a casualty at the point of injury

This practical 3 hour course is designed to give mountain bikers the skills and confidence to manage a casualty at the point of injury before the arrival of emergency services.

Mountain biking often takes place in remote or difficult to access locations, where high speed impacts, falls, and collisions can result in serious injury. This course focuses on managing those critical first moments safely and effectively until professional help arrives.

The course will cover key skills including scene safety, casualty assessment, and early casualty management, with hands on practice under expert tuition. Learning is reinforced through realistic scenarios that reflect incidents commonly seen on trails, bike parks, forestry tracks, and rural riding areas.

Written and delivered by experts in pre hospital care, the course equips riders with practical, confidence building skills and a clear understanding of what to do, and what not to do, when an incident occurs.
