A man has sadly died and a woman has been taken to hospital after a collision in Tamworth last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 7.16pm to the A5 near Castle and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor, critical care paramedic and a Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Critical Care Car from Cosford to the scene.
A Community First Responder was also in attendance.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found a lorry and two pedestrians had been involved in a collision.
“A man was receiving basic life support and ambulance crews immediately took over to administer advanced life support.
“Sadly, it quickly became clear that he could not be saved and was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“A woman was treated by medics for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”
