Two men have been injured, one critically, after a serious road traffic collision in Quinton last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Clapgate Lane, Birmingham at 11.18pm yesterday (Monday 13th April) to reports of a car which had collided with a tree. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene to find a car which had been involved in a significant collision with a tree. The driver, a man, was out of the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was treated by ambulance staff before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further treatment.
“The passenger, a man, was in a critical condition. He was extricated with help from fire colleagues and received advanced trauma care on scene by the team of medics before being conveyed on blue lights to the same hospital for further trauma care. His condition on arrival in A&E was described as life-threatening.”
