Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s 2026 Christmas Raffle has officially launched, giving people the chance to win cash prizes while supporting the charity as it celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Tickets cost £1, with the chance to win a top prize of £3,000.
Every ticket sold directly supports the charity’s lifesaving work, helping its advanced clinical team respond to pre-hospital emergencies across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire.
Since its first mission in 1991, the charity has grown into one of the UK’s busiest and most advanced air ambulance services, responding to more than 80,000 missions and delivering lifesaving treatment to patients when every second counts.
This year’s Christmas Raffle features 17 cash prizes, ranging from £25 to £3,000.
By taking part, supporters will be helping to fund the charity’s vital work and could make a life changing difference for people like Chris Leese, who suffered catastrophic injuries in October 2020.
While riding his motorbike through the Staffordshire Moorlands, Chris was involved in a devastating collision that left him with a traumatic brain injury, collapsed lungs and multiple fractures. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s specialist critical care team arrived at the scene and delivered advanced lifesaving treatment before Chris was taken to hospital. He then spent three weeks in a coma.
Chris finally awoke on Christmas Day, giving him the chance to reunite with his family.
Chris said: “It was a moment I’ll never forget. My life changed forever following the accident, and none of us knew if I would live to see another Christmas. But thanks to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, I have been given more time with the people I love and more precious moments that might otherwise never have happened.”
Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “When someone needs our help, every second matters. Our crews arrive at the scene with the specialist skills and equipment needed to give patients the best possible chance. But we can only do this thanks to the support of our local communities. We receive no Government funding, so every raffle ticket, donation and act of kindness helps us continue being there for patients and their families when they need us most.
“Our Christmas Raffle gives people the chance to win a cash prize, but more importantly, it gives them the opportunity to support our lifesaving work and help us protect the moments that matter, for patients and their families, this Christmas and throughout the year.”
The Christmas Raffle is open to anyone aged 18 and over. Each ticket costs £1 and entrants’ unique raffle ticket numbers will be automatically entered into the prize draw. The closing date for postal entries is Monday 14th December; the closing date for online entries is Thursday 17th December. The draw will take place on Monday 21st December.
