Shropshire is home to the oldest of our three airbases, RAF Cosford, which houses our largest wholly-owned air ambulance, the H145. This was purchased in February 2018, and allows the crew to fly further for longer, and can carry a passenger, for example a parent if a child is being airlifted.
It has also been selected at the location of choice for our new airbase and charity headquarters, details of which can be found here.

“Something like this makes you appreciate everything, especially the little things.” – Craig Harris
After suffering a cardiac arrest at work, Craig Harris needed MAAC’s clinical skills immediately in order to survive.
Maria has been a member of the Midlands Air Ambulance family since 2009 and feels very privileged to work for such a respected charity. While living and working in Shropshire, Maria has had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people from fundraisers, to former patients and their families. One of the roles she loves is working with schools across the region to promote awareness and help deliver our CPR program. Each day is different in the world of fundraising which gives an added bonus to such a rewarding job. Get in touch to find out how Maria can support your fundraising efforts for our charity!
