Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is flying high after a generous donation of £13,000, following the success of a lively charity dinner held by Hereford’s own, KGD Industrial Services.

KGD Industrial Services, which specialises in designing and manufacturing process plant equipment and pressure vessels, as well as offering in-house engineering services, is a long-standing part of the Hereford community and wanted to give back by rallying support for local charities.

The event, held at KGD’s headquarters in Hereford, brought guests together for an evening of raffles and auctions, all in support of the charities’ vital work – resulting in a staggering £33,000 raised. The generous contributions were divided up between Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which received £13,000, and St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford, which received £20,000.

Ed Pitt, Managing Director at KGD Industrial Services, proudly presented the donation cheques to Teri Harding from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and Matt Ashcroft from St Michael’s Hospice. The funds raised will help make four air ambulance and four critical care car missions possible.

Commenting on the donation, Ed said: “I would like to personally thank everyone who attended our charity dinner, it was a fantastic evening and one we won’t forget! The generosity of everyone who came along was overwhelming, and together we’ve raised a fantastic amount for two charities that do so much for our local community. I am thrilled to see that the money raised will aid the charities in continuing the vital  work they do.”

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity needs to raise £16 million each year to keep its helicopters and critical care cars operational, responding to some of the most serious emergencies across six Midlands counties, including Hereford. The service undertakes around 10 missions a day, funded entirely by public and corporate donations.
