Darren is the Clinical Quality and Operations Director / CQC Registered Manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
He has over 30 years experience within an NHS Ambulance Service working as a Paramedic, Operational Manager and Head of Patient Safety. During this time he was one of the first Specialist Professional Advisors to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Darren moved to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in 2021 and was actively involved in achieving CQC registration and is accountable for all regulated activities of the clinical service.
Darren holds various professional qualifications including a Masters in Healthcare Governance and is a registered Paramedic with the Health Care Professionals Council.
Consistent high quality of patient care is Darren’s priority. Since childhood, his ambition was to work within the pre-hospital environment and personal experience of family members suffering critical injuries and end of life pathways reinforced Darren’s unwavering motivation for patients to receive the very best care, dignity and respect that they deserve.
