We’re so proud to be celebrating the success of our annual Wear It Red campaign, which saw over 100 organisations, including schools, groups, and businesses across the Midlands, come together to support our lifesaving service.
Between the 10th and 16th of February, more than 21,000 people across the region joined in by wearing red and raising over £18,000. That incredible amount will fund five air ambulance missions and six critical care car missions. Our shops across the six regions also got involved with red-themed window displays and by encouraging the purchase of red items, adding another £500 to the total.
We were amazed by the creative ways people got involved. Dudley Zoo & Castle illuminated their iconic Tecton turnstiles in red, while Wendy Morton, MP for Aldridge-Brownhills, proudly wore red in Parliament. Our campaign sponsor, M6toll, not only joined in the fun but also hosted a red-themed colouring competition for their team and families.
We also received outstanding support from schools across the six counties we serve. A total of 70 schools took part with dress-down days, sponsored events, and creative activities. Every school received a special thank you message from our clinical crew through a free resource pack we provided.
