Tim is a HEMS pilot on Helimed 09 at our Tatenhill base in Staffordshire. He started his flying career as a paramedic with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in 1997 before changing direction to become a pilot. After qualifying, Tim flew as a Search & Rescue pilot in Shetland before returning to the air ambulance world.
Tim says: 'Air ambulance flying can be challenging but is also immensely rewarding. The MAAC clinical team do an amazing job bringing enhanced care directly to the patient and it's great to play a part in that; but also to see the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes by volunteers, charity and support staff to keep the helicopters in the air.'
