Black Country Charities Having A Ball Thanks To Society Donation

Monday 25th June 2018

In keeping with the nation which is gripped with football fever, six local concerns are also having a ball after netting cash from the Tipton and Coseley Building Society’s Charitable Foundation.

The Tipton’s Charitable Foundation has awarded cheques collectively worth almost £4,000 to children's literacy charity, Beanstalk, Brook Young People, the UK's leading sexual health and wellbeing charity for young people, dementia support charity, BUDS Sandwell, education charity, Employability UK, NICE, which works in the Conductive Education field and Samaritans which aims to provide emotional support to anyone in need.

In addition, the Charitable Foundation pledged to double the amount raised for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity at the Tipton’s Charity Skydive last month.

Lesley Thacker, Risk & Compliance Executive at the Tipton, said: "Many of the charitable organisations we support are heavily reliant on the support of the local community. We are committed in helping these concerns wherever possible and it’s great to know that we are making such a positive difference across the region.”

Twice a year a panel of Society staff and members of the local community come together to allocate funds to health and education charities based in the West Midlands. The Tipton’s Charitable Foundation launched in 1999 and has donated over £150,000 to local charities since then.

For information on the Society’s mortgage or savings products, call the Tipton on 0121 557 2551 open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and between 9am and 12pm on Saturdays.  Alternatively drop in at one of the branches in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley or Bilston or visit www.thetipton.co.uk
