Gareth Snell, MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central, visited Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s shop in Stoke-on-Trent on Thursday 19th March, shining a spotlight on the vital role the charity plays in supporting lifesaving services across Staffordshire.
Gareth was welcomed by staff, volunteers, and supporters who help keep the charity shop running day to day. During the visit, he toured the shop floor, met with team members, and learned more about how donated goods directly contribute to funding Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s critical missions.
Gareth said: "It’s a privilege to visit the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity shop and see how staff and volunteers are championing sustainable high‑street shopping here in Stoke-on-Trent whist supporting the charity’s lifesaving work. Their dedication not only strengthens this community but also helps ensure the charity is there to provide pre-hospital emergency care to those most in need.”
Fletcher Smith, regional area manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity said: “Having our local MP visit our Stoke-on-Trent shop and recognise the hard work of our staff and volunteers and the generosity of our local community means a great deal to us. Every item donated and every purchase made helps save lives, and today’s visit really highlighted that.”
Gareth also spoke with volunteers about their experiences and the sense of purpose that comes from supporting a charity that has been providing rapid emergency medical care across the Midlands since 1991.
2026 marks an incredible milestone for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity: 35 years of lifesaving service across the region. To mark this anniversary, the charity is encouraging residents of Stoke-on-Trent to donate pre-loved items, shop sustainably, and consider volunteering to help keep their local air ambulance flying.
