Golf Club Captain Exceeds Fundraising Expectations

Friday 30th June 2017

Stone Golf Club Captain, Paul Watson, chose Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as his charity for 2016/2017 and raised a fantastic £700.

The funds were raised by having a Captain's Charity bottle collection in the club bar, a blind auction for a four-ball at Ingestre Park and a Captain's Bunker; anyone whose ball landed in that bunker was required to donate at least 50p to the charity.

Paul Watson explains: “I chose to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as it is a local charity which any of us may be unfortunate enough to require the services of at some point in our lives.

“I am very proud of the members of Stone Golf Club for supporting me in raising £700. I have to say the sum raised exceeded my expectations.”

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity receives no Government or National Lottery funding, relying solely on donations from local people.

Katie West, Staffordshire fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity adds: “We are very grateful to Paul and the members of Stone Golf Club for helping us to fund a future lifesaving mission.”
