Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Shares Best Practice

Friday 27th April 2018

A brand new clinical governance website has been launched by the team at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, with the aim of being the leading source of information for clinicians working in the pre-hospital arena.

“At Midlands Air Ambulance Charity we deliver world-class patient care to some of the most traumatically injured patients within the six counties we cover,” states Dr Mark Nash, clinical lead for the organisation.

He continues: “We pride ourselves on our excellent clinical and operational performance. As there is limited resource online for the air ambulance community, we believe our new website will be welcomed by a broad range of audiences, including doctors and paramedics who work in the pre-hospital arena.”

In addition, a new online patient survey has also been devised to allow former patients that have had to rely on Midlands Air Ambulance Charity to provide vital feedback about their care and recovery. This will assist the charity in developing the future of patient care.

www.midlandsairambulance.com/clinical is an extension to the charity’s existing website and has been developed in collaboration with the charity key stakeholders West Midlands Ambulance Service. The site includes information on; leading clinical research trials, helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) case scenarios, useful reference papers, air ambulance resources, standard operating procedures, and an area on aircrew training and recruitment.

Dr Nash concludes: “Patient care will always be at the heart of what we do. By sharing with and learning from our fellow clinicians, we can collectively ensure the patient comes first. This is why certain sections of the new website include areas for feedback and comment, and we’re encouraging our peers to join in the conversation.”
