Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Supporters Thanked For Rapid Response

Tuesday 22nd June 2021

As Midlands Air Ambulance Charity celebrated its Air30 30th anniversary in May, the lifesaving service adopted a more traditional way of fundraising, through its Air30 Rapid Response Raffle and is thanking supporters for getting involved.

More than £120,000 was raised for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s pre-hospital emergency service by all those that bought tickets in the Rapid Response Raffle. This sum will help make 120 lifesaving missions possible – 40 in the charity’s three air ambulances and a further 80 missions in the service’s two critical care cars.

Emma Gray, chief operating officer for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Thirty years ago raffles were one of the main ways people helped fundraise for our service. Now in our Air30 anniversary year, we decided to go retro and host a Rapid Response Raffle, which has been a great success.

“An enormous thank you goes to everyone who kindly took part and helped to make an astounding 120 lifesaving missions possible across the Midlands.”

Cliff, from Shropshire, who won the jackpot £3,000 prize, added: “I can’t believe it, I never win anything. I took part in the raffle as I wanted to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, but I never thought I’d actually win the top prize! I’m still deciding what to spend it on, but the big winner is the charity as we’ve all helped to fund future lifesaving missions.”

Cliff kindly donated £1,000 back to the charity, which will fund four missions in the service’s critical care cars.
