A full-service law firm and solicitors is offering people in Redditch a free Will writing service to help boost legacy donations for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which covers six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire, has responded to almost 70,000 missions since its launch in 1991. It's one of the busiest air ambulance services in the UK with four in ten missions funded through gifts left in Wills by generous pledgers.

FBC Manby Bowdler LLP, based on Church Road, is now one of 14 firms of solicitors that has signed up to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s free Will writing service, offering free Basic Wills. The scheme has been designed to raise awareness about how vital legacy donations are to the charity and the significant role they play in making lifesaving missions possible for the pre-hospital emergency service.

It costs more than £10million a year to maintain the charity's three aircraft, three critical care cars and the provision of its lifesaving service with each air mission costing an average of £2,950. Each car mission costs an average of £288.

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and marketing for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "Charitable gifts in Wills are on the rise[1], indeed almost 40 per cent of our daily missions are funded through the legacies we receive from those who have thoughtfully remembered our charity in their Will. People in Redditch who are considering writing or updating their Will can now do this completely free of charge with the team at FBC Manby Bowdler LLP in partnership with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Anyone who leaves a gift to our charity will contribute to our daily lifesaving missions in the area as part of their legacy."

Sara Simson, partner in the Wills, Probate and Lifetime Planning Team at FBC Manby Bowdler LLP, added: "Everyone should have a Will in place to ensure their final wishes are fulfilled. This can also help ease the burden on those they care about. We hope the people in Redditch come forward, so we can assist them with preparing their Will while supporting this lifesaving charity.

“We know most people that use this free service go on to leave a Gift in their Will to support the charity to save more lives, as part of their lasting legacy.”

The free Will writing service, via FBC Manby Bowdler LLP, is available to anyone in Redditch aged 55 and over, regardless of whether they choose to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in their will. Anyone who would like more information can visit the charity's Free Will Writing Scheme webpage.

Located in the heart of Redditch town, FBC Manby Bowdler LLP's solicitors offer award-winning legal services and can advise on personal and business legal matters. Find out more about FBC Manby Bowdler LLP.
