Six-year-old Worcestershire fundraiser raises over £1,200 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Monday 19th January 2026

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is celebrating the incredible fundraising efforts of six-year-old Teddie Goddard from Pershore, whose determination and compassion have already made a lifesaving difference.

Despite his young age, Teddie has caught the fundraising bug and has previously raised money for The Dogs Trust, Larsen’s Pride – a charity supporting children with brain tumours – and Children in Need. Inspired by regularly seeing Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s helicopters flying over his home, Teddie decided he wanted to help support the charity’s vital work.

His motivation was strengthened further after attending an event at the Three Counties Showground, where he witnessed two Midlands Air Ambulance Charity helicopters land at a nearby farm following a tragic accident. Deeply moved by what he saw, Teddie was determined to take action.

With the help of his mum, Lizzie, Teddie set up a JustGiving page and chose to raise funds by walking his dog, Missie. Setting himself an ambitious target of £1,000, Teddie quickly exceeded expectations, raising an incredible £1,207 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Diane Thomson, Worcestershire fundraising executive at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “What a privilege it has been to meet Teddie, who is the most remarkable little boy with such kindness and determination. At just six years old, Teddie has shown a level of compassion and community spirit far beyond his years. Raising over £1,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is an incredible achievement at any age, let alone so young, and his efforts will not only help save lives but also raise awareness. He is a true inspiration to us all, proving that you’re never too young to make a HUGE difference.”

Teddie added: “I wanted to help the charity because I always see the helicopters flying around and they help people who are really poorly. I liked walking Missie to raise money and I want to keep helping so they can save more lives.”

Teddie’s fundraising journey has captured the hearts of his local community, earning him invitations to bike nights, coverage in the local press, and recognition through several awards. He was awarded a special accolade at the TryAngle Awards in Worcestershire and went on to win Young Fundraiser of the Year at the Young Solutions Awards, attending a prestigious ceremony to receive his award.

After visiting the charity’s airbase headquarters in Shifnal, , Teddie was inspired even further and now dreams of working for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in the future. He is already planning to continue fundraising to support the charity’s lifesaving missions.
