STATEMENT FROM MIDLANDS AIR AMBULANCE CHARITY

Monday 19th March 2018

Supporters that may have read an article in the Sunday Times regarding The Air Ambulance Service based in Warwickshire.

Hanna Sebright, chief executive of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, states: “With regards to a recent newspaper story relating to The Air Ambulance Service based in Warwickshire, we would like to state that we have no charitable, operational or governance connection with this organisation.

“Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been operating since 1991. Our culture and commitment to open, honest communication with our people remains key to our long-term success.

“The charitable funds Midlands Air Ambulance Charity raises are channelled directly to the three vitally important pre-hospital emergency air ambulances that we provide, serving the counties of West Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

“We believe in providing complete transparency in our activities and as part of this commitment, we closely monitor how much we spend on administration. In our current charity commission audited accounts, less than 6.5 per cent of our income is spent on our governance and administration.”
