The Vinehill Trust Awards £85,096 Grant to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for Advanced Critical Care Equipment

Thursday 12th March 2026

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is delighted to announce a generous grant of £85,096 from The Vinehill Trust, a UK grant‑giving organisation that supports initiatives in health, heritage, and music.

This significant funding will enable the charity to purchase four Zoll X Series monitors, along with six months’ worth of essential consumables. The Zoll X Series is a compact, highly advanced monitor and defibrillator designed specifically for emergency medical services. Its portability, comprehensive monitoring capabilities, and real‑time feedback technology make it a vital tool for clinicians working in pre-hospital environments.

Used both at the scene of medical emergencies and during the transportation of critically ill or injured patients, this equipment is typically found only in pre-hospital critical care or major trauma units. Having access to such sophisticated technology in the field ensures that Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s team of highly skilled flight doctors and critical care paramedics can stabilise patients quickly and effectively, giving them the best possible chance of survival and recovery following life‑changing incidents.

Since founding in May 1991, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been there in moments of medical emergency and trauma, providing advanced pre-hospital clinical care when it matters most. The Vinehill Trust’s support will further strengthen the charity’s mission to deliver its lifesaving service across the region - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Dr Mohammad Tamimi, Trustee at The Vinehill Trust said: “Air ambulance charities save lives every day but receive no Government funding. They need help from all of us if they are to carry on providing critical services. We are delighted to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity by providing funding for equipment that will make a real difference to its frontline work.”

Karen Baker, associate clinical operations director at Midlands Air Ambulance charity, said: “For 35 years, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been at the forefront of pre‑hospital emergency medicine, continually investing in the tools and technology that allow us to deliver hospital‑level care at the scene. These additional Zoll X Series monitors strengthens that commitment even further. Thanks to The Vinehill Trust’s generous support, our clinicians can continue to provide the most advanced critical care to patients when they need it most.”
