The Inner Wheel of Worcester Severn Rotary Club's pedal power to raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Members of the Inner Wheel of Worcester Severn Rotary Club are preparing to complete three charity bike rides spanning over a hundred miles this month to raise much needed funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Marg Morris, member of the Inner Wheel of Worcester Severn Rotary Club, and her daughter, Katie, will cycle 121-miles over three consecutive days, representing the distance between Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's three airbases; Tatenhill Airfield in Staffordshire, RAF Cosford in Shropshire and Strensham Services on the M5 in Worcestershire.

Each day's activities will start at three garden centres in the Midlands; St Peters Garden Centre in Worcester on Friday 6th May, Webbs of Wychbold on Saturday 7th May and Stratford Garden Centre on Sunday 8th May.

Commenting, Marg said: "The rides will be a real endurance challenge, but myself and Katie are determined to raise as much money as possible for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which the Inner Wheel of Worcester Severn has supported since last summer and will continue through to the summer of 2022 and beyond.”

Kate Ingles, president of the Inner Wheel of Worcester Severn Rotary Club, added: "So far our events have raised in excess of £2,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and we're confident the bike ride will add a further £3,000 to the coffers.

"The Worcestershire Stag Owners Club (SOC) which I'm also a member of, is also a great supporter of the charity – its members will also be in attendance, in their Triumph Stags, to send our riders off in style. Once the riders have set off at around 10am, the Triumph Stags, and their owners, will remain in the garden centre's car park until later in the morning so customers can see them.

“We'll also be out in full force, rattling tins for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, so I hope enthusiasts and customers dig deep to raise funds for this vital lifesaving service."
