Primary blast lung injury - a review

Previously considered a battlefield problem, blast lung injury is now being seen more frequently in the civilian setting with more than 90% of patients affected in terrorist attacks involving enclosed spaces such as trains. This review article looks at the epidemiology, pathophysiology and treatment options for primary blast lung injury.
